Hi!
My friend's Hotpoint Aquarius+ WF740P washing machine has developed a fit of the collywobbles following drive-belt replacement, stopping in mid-cycle with error codes F-08 and F-10 showing up on the front control display!!!
I suspect the internal EEPROM has become corrupted in some way due to the thing running out of sequence, is there any way:-
1) Erasing the error codes stored in the control EEPROM from the front buttons - there was a website that gave the info, but following a complaint from Indesit , it was taken down - surprise, surprise!!! Note - I'm NOT referring to the TEST/DEMO mode here - the error-clearing sequence apparantly gives the h/w and s/w version nos in sequence plus other data two digits at a time I believe!!!
2) The rear of these machines has a five way socket into which Hotpoint repairers plug a thingy on a lappy to program new blank modules with the correct machine's software, but all my local repairers want half the cost of a new machine to do it!!!
Does anyone know anything about this tool?
3) If I was to remove the EEPROM from the PCB, could it be programmed on an ordinary serial-type EEPROM programmer?
4) Has anyone got a copy of Hotpoint Service Manual 5045-1707-6037-3 they can scan and upload for me. and if anyone's got a working machine and a serial programmer with an 8-pin SOIC clip from which a dump could be read out and uploaded I'd be eternally grateful and so would my friend's wife!!!
