How can I connect ATMega8535 to Ethernet?

Atmel has an application note fot make what you want.
 

my idea is that i want the micro to do encryption to any data trnasmitted through a LAN .The micro will be on the network mideum and can perform some encryption algorithm
 

very interesting. Do you have any source codes for encryption algorithm?
 

yes i have a source code of some encryption algorithm but i want to know how to connect the micro to RG45?
