Hi,

I have just changes a footprint in the library, then deleted the component in the scem , then replaced it with the new component, then "design updated" it through to pcb, but the footprint in the pcb is still the old footprint.

do you know how i can change to the new footprint?

Hi,

In pcb library editor right click on that component footprint name and update it.

Hi,

In pcb library editor right click on that component footprint name and update it.

Open PCb Library just right click on that component select UPDATE PCB WITH Foot printname

...........i'll try this later................i have been deleting the component from the schem.......updating the pcb from scm so that it doesnt contain the footprint, then putting the new component in the schem, then updating that through, then remembering the coordinates of the footprint so as to set it back into the pcb......................but this method causes havoc as tracks dont seem to fit back up to the component, and there are all sorts of bits of tracks in the pads which look like floating bits of metal that altium complains about.
