Information lost in rs485 network

Hi all.

I have a RS485 network, with a PC as master and 10 slave controllers. PC is used to record temperatura information from controllers, and gathered in hard disk. Problem is sometimes information is lost in any controller (but just one of them).
Time period of lost information is random (sometimes 10 min, other times 40min, etc). And it occurrs randomly (any day, sometimes it works fine for 3 days and problem get back).

Any idea of what could be happening?

Attached is general information about the 2 networks i have problems with:

NETWORK 1:
-PENTIUM 4 PC.
-WINDOWS XP OS.
-AFEI SISTEMAS DE AUTOMATIZACION CUSB-RS485 v2 RS485-USB CONVERTER.
-NETWORKING CABLE USED: TELEPHONE CABLE, 2 NOT TWISTED, NOR SHIELDED PAIR, JUNCTIONS USING SINGLE TERMINALS, BLACK BAKELITE TYPE
-CONTROLLERS: TEINCO MP4040.

NETWORK 2:
-PENTIUM DUAL CORE PC.
-WINDOWS XP OS.
-HANYOUNG CV300 RS485-RS232 CONVERTER.
-NETWORKING CABLE USED: SIEMENS PROFIBUS CABLE, 1 NOT TWISTED, BUT SHIELDED PAIR (PURPLE INSULATOR, RED AND GREEN CABLE), JUNCTIONS USING SINGLE TERMINALS, BLACK BAKELITE TYPE
-HANYOUNG NP200-03
