data rate in 802.11a is 18 mbps
what does this specify?
why no of sub carriers(52) is not equal to FFT size(64)?
what for pilot carriers used?
what is 3db bandwidth in ofdm? what is its importece?

why no of sub carriers(52) is not equal to FFT size(64)? - it is a margin for filtering the received signal.
what for pilot carriers used? - they transmit the definite signal for syncronization purposes.
what does this specify? -
312.5 kbps for the carrier, multiply by 48 carriers = we get 15 mbps using binary modulation, 30 mbps with QPSK. Its throughput rate, maybe 18 mbps for user data, i dont remember
