Hi...

How can I find whether my standard cell is 9 track or 12 track ?? ..where can I find this information???

Re: Rgarding 9 track and 12 track in standard cells

Open standard cell LEF, Get the height of cell and divide it by metal 2 pitch.

Re: Rgarding 9 track and 12 track in standard cells

"divide it by metal 2 pitch" - what is it "pitch"?

Re: Rgarding 9 track and 12 track in standard cells

Pitch is "Minimum width + Minimum spacing". It is described as PITCH in LEF. Below is an example.

LAYER metal2
TYPE ROUTING ;
WIDTH 0.28 ;
SPACING 0.28 ;
PITCH 0.56 ;
DIRECTION HORIZONTAL ;

Re: Rgarding 9 track and 12 track in standard cells

Thanks! Does a number of tracks effect on propagation delay over the cell?

Re: Rgarding 9 track and 12 track in standard cells

Higher the number of tracks lesser the delay. For example, 12 track cells have higher driving capability than 9track cells. It is because of more area, we get in 12 track. So 12 track cells are wider, so more driving strength and large area also.
