Now we want to use some ARM9 based FPGA devices for verification in a SOC design. We are interested in the Excalibur of Altera.
Is there anyone having experience about such devices? We want to know everything about it.
Thank you!

Hi optor:

I used Excal1bur two years ago. The device I used include a ARM922T

core. And the device included some basic IP, such as UART, SRAM.

If you buy the Device, you will get support from Altera, they have many

documents about their device.

We want to use it for the verification of a SOC design. Do you think it is robust and easy to use?

Thank you very much!

did you thought about the PPC405 embedded in the Virtex II Pro
FPGA from Xilinx? The EDK (embedded development kit) supports
with tools and eclipse is the IDE for software development.
It is quite complex but has lots of features.

I am sorry we have been involved in ARM too much; It's not easy to change our direction. We are not familiar with the PowerPC core.
