This control module can be used for control by the Internet. It can operate with a home made control and alarm system with notification by a mobile phone.

Command the status change of a device with specified number (from 01 to 99) causes sending the appropriate command by the output port RS-485 of the driver.

Output port RS-485 parameters:
speed 9600 bps, 8N1
Format of sent commands:
prefix - #
device number – two numbers (01-00)
specified state – 0 (off) or 1 (on)

An example command:
#021 – turn on the device number 02
#370 – turn on the device number 37

This solution allows the physical separation of control devices from the driver, division to the modules and their distribution at any distances from each other only limited by acceptable parameters of the bus RS-485.

99 „on-off” devices is in practice sufficient for most applications.

This device can also be used as a simple converter of commands sent by Ethernet (you have 99x2=198 combinations available) to signals of RS-485.

SterNet-4PK has built in four relays with outputs of NO type, what allows you to drive them directly without connecting additional modules to the RS-485.

Control (up to 99 outputs, including 4 built in relays) can be carried out by:
  • any http browser
  • from local keypad (so you do not have to use computer)
  • from local keypad of other SterNet – the driver can be both server and client for other such a device, which allows you to control – without using a computer – by other driver operating in a different location, but connected by for example a Wi-Fi bridge. In practive thich allows you to control devices in a distant garage from home and vice versa
  • input port RS-485 of the driver (as an alternative control method)

Description of pins:
