Dear Sir, Madam;
I am , a Master Degree student at the Technology University, Baghdad, Iraq. I am currently preparing to finalize my research, which is named: “ECG Recognition Using Intelligent Technique”; and need ECG Audio Files (.wav files type) for different cardiac diseases.
I had actually searched a Physinet.org site, but unfortunately I found only (.dat files type). As I’ve been informed that you’d love to help all students around the world, could you please provide me with many “.wav Audio Files” as soon as possible? Any help would be extremely appreciated!
by the way i have never used Unix OS and i'm working on windows 7.
Thank you for your time and cooperation!

Generally an ECG machine detects tiny rises and falls in the voltage between two electrodes(more than two can be used) placed either side of the heart which is displayed as a wavy line either on a screen or on paper. This display indicates the overall rhythm of the heart and weaknesses in different parts of the heart muscle.
Once I worked on a project to digitize old ECG graphs stored in a Research Institute.
I like to know what do you mean by ECG Audio file.

hi Papunblg ... ECG Audio file means sapmles stored in a .wav file .. i'm tried retrieving .dat files from physionet to convert them to .wav format , but i failed ..
can u guied me to solve my problem ?
thnx 4 ur response

You can used Audio/video to Wav converter as DAT to Wav converter

.dat file extension is generally used to denote back up file. The question is which encoder is used to create the file. You need a decoder for that encoder. Now if the file is encoded with mpeg1 format, you do not need to install any additional dat decoder. If the dat file is encoded with mpeg1.1 or 2.0 format, please install DVD players such as WinDVD Player or PowerDVDPlayer, which include the appropriate dat decoder.(Check Windows 7 for available decoders).
Please make sure the *.dat file is media file and Windows Media Player can play it because many other files also use this kind of extension

The source is unreliable. consider another source for wav files... Connect any differential Op Amp ( 3stage) or better any Instrument Amplifier chip with gain of 1000. and measure your own ECG signals. Or ask the Cardiology or Heart research foundation from some source to provide medical test signals. Use a suitable dielectric on the probes to prevent galvanic skin response or use silver coated adhesive patch probes.

Consult with advisor for better source than domain provided.

that should be good for 100 Airmiles

Your weblink redirected me to a file sharing domain and a .DAT file is used for everything from Windows email descriptor attachments that cannot be read on OSX or Linux and you need a traceable source for any publication.

papunplg & SunnySkygun ..
thank u for ur cooporation and ur advice ...
i'll try to utilized ur advices and if i was faced with any problem , i'll tell u ...
