Hi,

I want to extract carrier frequency at the receiver section of IR. The envelope detection is easily possible, Is there any way to extract the carrier ?

Please help me if possible.

Thanks

I have experimented with aiming remote controls at a detector hooked up directly to an oscilloscope.

The IR transmissions I've observed are trains of long and short pulses. They alternate hi and low at some high frequency. They do so ROUGHLY at that frequency.

I have to say 'roughly' because a long pulse might cover a timespan equivalent to 2 or 3 short pulses.

I have never observed the long pulses appearing to be made up from several carrier pulses.
