Hi there, i m doing my Final year project on electronic load controller using igbt.. The problem im facing now is the igbt part which it suppose to chop off the Vce when there no voltage at igbt gate.. All i get is the Vce is always been chop to half of the input supply whenever there's voltage or non at the igbt gate.. Anyone can help me with it? Im using the irg4bC40w igbt.. Thanks in advance..

Or anyone who have any idea of using the igbt in chop off voltage.. Hope there's some one can help me..

There are some errors in the diagram you have posted. I was making minor modifications, but that’s not for sure the ideal circuit you need. You may use dedicated drivers/optocouplers for low side high current application
e.g. TC4451/TC4452. Also check here:

or may try to modify the circuit by the suggestions available here:

thanks for the reply mister_rf. I try the circuit you modify and its still give the same result. i will try the link you give. am i using the correct igbt? thanks for the links.

in your schematic the 2n3906 transistor, did you mean i should change to other transistor?

I will try my best to understand all the datasheet. Thanks for helping. :)
