pcs & gsm

what's different between PCS and gsm
could someone tell me

Re: pcs & gsm

Usually the terminology for GSM and PCS refer to 900MHz band for GSM, and 1900MHz band for PCS.

Frequency allocation for all GSM bands is:

GSM850 – 824MHz to 894MHz (US)
GSM900 – 880MHz to 960MHz (Europe, Asia)
DCS1800 – 1710MHz to 1880MHz (Europe, Asia)
PCS1900 – 1850MHz to 1990MHz (US)

Re: pcs & gsm

US Dual band: GSM850/PCS1900
EU Dual band: GSM900/DCS1800

pcs & gsm

Could you recount it in details?

Re: pcs & gsm

so if i design a LNA for pcs1900 the condictions

eg voltage gain <20bB
NF<4dB
are they similar GSM?

pcs & gsm

The advantage of PCS over GSM is power consumption. The disadvantage is handover mechanism.
