I've used Altium for 3 years and never seen this. I copied several part from a schematic from a different project and folder. Every time I update the PCB all of those part are removed and added. I have to go back a place them again.
On the schematic I reset and re-annotated, I changed the unique IDs, rolled everything up into a integrated library and set the path to it, and many more things to solve the problem, nothing works.....

Any ideas?

Hi, I have an idea - did you match the component links in Project -->Component Links you can then match part in the Schematic and PCB by thier designator meaning they will be left in the same place when you update changes. The only thing to watch out for is if you change say C1 from an 0402 to a 1206 obviously there are going to be errors because the component is so much bigger. I hope this solves your problem.

Thank you - That solved the problem. I did end up a couple of wayward 1210 not fitting in 0402 slots. Strange you picked those two as examples. I do not see a "solved" button anywhere....

Cool glad you are sorted it took me a good while to find out about that option also... and it's so good I use it before almost every update.
