hello!
I am new to hfss v12 software.
i am designing an usb dongle antenna for mimo applications as a project for my graduation.i am held up at the excitation stage.i have attached the reference paper for clarification.
i have made the structure in hfss but struck at the excitation.i was unable to give lumped port because both the ground and conductor are on the same layer (i.e., on the top layer of FR-4 substrate).
what is the method to excite such structures??

If this is solved then that would be a great help to me!
Thanks in advance

One way might be to draw a rectangular sheet which touches the two tracks. Then click on the sheet, and an add a lumped port excitation. You will need to draw an integration line - draw that across the sheet. There are some real HFSS experts on here (one in particular I can think of). But if you are stuck, I could try adding a lumped port if you post your .hfss file. The only possible issue is that I don't have access to version 12, so it's possible you might not be able to read the file if I edited it. But I expect you will be able to, as I'd not make use of any new features in HFSS 13 or 14.

Hai DeboraHarry !

I have attached the hfss file in project1.rar.For your ease of work,i have made the design in HFSS 13 itself so that any modifications you can do if needed.
Please add the lumped port and try to simulate. If it is working good as per the paper shared before, share the hfss file with me.

Thanks in advance!

I think the MIMO reception antenna desgin should aslo pay attention to the isolation between the two antennas, such as using different polaration to provide the diversity gain.

I am doing in my final year project is mimo antenna in hfss13.but i dont know how to calculate antenna parameters mathematically can anybody help me.
Thank u
