Dear all ,

i had drawn my simple schematic in capture cis . & created netlist for allegro. but it says can't locatae sysmbol file.

But i hav already assigne footprints in capture CIS . that is i hav typed footprint name which are located in share->PCB_lib->symbols. but still not able to get components with ratsnets in allegro PCB editor.

i also want to ask that the libraries are to be placed in "share->PCB_lib->symbols" this path only or what?

cant i keep it in some another path? how to assign it libraries if i kept it on another path.

is there not any way to assign footprint as in altium. in altium while drawing schematic we can attache PCB footprint to schematic symbol. can't i do this in allegro ? typeing pcb footprint name by editig property is lengthy job. is there any way to solve this problem.

pls share your thoughts.

Thanx
Rohan

Have you created the *.brd file first you have to create a *.brd file(PCB file).
and in PCB editor only goto Setup>> User Preferences>> Paths>> Library
and assign PAD path and PSM Path
you acn assign any location of your symbol libaray in these paths.

Now try to transfer schematic capture from CIS to PCB editor.
