Hi i read posts about this subject but cant find a concrete answer,

i got a cilindrical microstrip antenna its supposed to be omnidirectional in the azimuthal plane ( ripples in the radiation patter should be >-3dB of the normalized radiation pattern) HFSS lets me find the E field but what i dnt know its wicth function should i use dB10log(Enormalize) or dB20log(Enormalized), i though it was 10log and i based my hole design, i think i made a mistake (huge one) since i read on balanis that there are Radiation fields pattern and power patterns witch one should i use, witch one do i get from anechoich chamber measurements, so i guess the main question its wich function should i use to get the normalized E field in HFSS so i can check the omnidirectionality condition.

Sorry for my english

Best regards
