Hello everyone..I've used the microcontroller AT 89s52 for my project "home monitoring through cellphone" but ?I'm really unable to answer the question why to choose AT 89s52 over an ARM processor?? can any one give me a good reason?

I usually use the MCU that I am familiar with AND I can get with ease...

For example, I do a lot even with the very old small MCU AT89C2051.

Lately I use it to control my automatic regulated protected DC to AC inverter (2000W) which becomes an automatic regulated protected charger (20A / 24V) when it detects mains voltage. It does all with its 2K codes, 128 RAM and 15 I/O pins :)

Yes people often dont use full capability of uC. I also love 89C2051 this small bug can do lots things.

Also 89S51 and 89S52 in combination with some good ADC IC can be right, cheap and user friendly choise.

89S51 and 89S52 are available in TQFP case and its very small.

It is very simple to answer your question. Just simply say that my project works fine with this ic then why should i go for arm ic or else say that i am familiar with this ic when compared with the arm ic's that's why i have chosen this ic for my project :)

Yes that can be one of good reason, like vignesh says, in other hands just look support for one and another uC, how many people can help you in both ways, how many books and examples we have for both choices, then what is price comparison and availability in local store...

what tpetar says is a very nice point to answer your question Shweta ds.
