Dear all
i'm using ADS to simulate spiral inductors using momentum simulation... the result is always in s parameters. Is there a methos to get result in z parameters (to extract inductance, series resistance, and capacitance) ?
thank you all... :)

momentum simulation

some software can transform S-parameter into Z-parameter~~
such as matlab~~

Model development is different.
Use the momentum as you do and get the S parameters. There are Matrices transfer to Z, Y or others such as ABCD.
In order to find the equivalent circuit parameters look at the models such as Agilent recomend ot others then use as you mentioned an extract parameters or mack an optimization to fix the model to the simulations. It is common to use a library model for inductors, capacitors, resistors and more.

First thing coming to my mind is that there are plenty of options in ADS for "S-Simulations" look at the picture. You can use smith chart to find all impedances, make equations etc.

Abstract
This report reviews existing models for spiral inductors and transformers. It also discusses tools we have developed for the generation of S-parameters and for the extraction of lumped parameters from S-parameter data. Some examples are given to test the accuracy of these tools

Hi,

You can use stoz() function for Z parameter extraction. stoy() will serve Y parameter extraction.

for example, Z(1,1)=stoz(S(1,1))
a bit late but, one can use if there is a problem with S parameters to Z parameters.

:D

inductor momentum simulation

Hi,

Something very simple.
You simulate your momentum data in ADS with 2 term ports and a "S parameters" in the panel.
Click on the S param block and choose Z parameters and you get directly the corresponding Z param in the dds window.

It's very easy

model generation momentum ads

ADS has a tool to convert a 2 port S-parmameter to Spice model( from manul: Tools->Spice Model Generator). I sometimes use this tool to gengerate the initial circuit and optimize on it.

Yes you can.
After momentum simulation, make model of your inductor & use it in schematic simulation.
Do S parameter simulation.
As shown by djalli
use the function to extract zin information.
or when you plot the result you will get option to plot real or imaginary part of S or Z.
