can you recomend sample link sir,for i'll try:smile:

You should search like "tachometer" or "rpm", but you must pay attention on accurency, because this is not car tacho with x1000, you have only two digits. Car tacho have about 60rpm accurency.

I will see what can be found.

He is counting pulses with hole detector , all he may need is a Schmidt trigger his accuracy depends upon his stable rotation speed of the disc . the digital part is 100% accurate.
modern cars don't use tachometer( because the output voltage is not linear to speed and at slow2-3 rpm they may output close to zero ) they use hall effect detector

I think on RPM meter not on speedometer. Speedometer is other thing. Hall sensor is not used in all car even newest for that!

Yes, he need just a counter of input signal from optical sensor and make calc per minute and show results on two 7-seg LED (0-99 RPM).

See this cheap solution with unimer freq meter (just for thinking):

:cool:Maybe we can still find some stupid company's still using magnetic proximity sensors or tacho or the cable option, but then they may still use carburetors .
any car using fuel injection has a computer and the rpm value can be taken from there . be a sport find me a car still using all that old tech and i owe u a beer.

Newer car are direct injection, carb is history. Carb can be found on some new car, but not on top car type, and less and less.

Old car dont have car computer. But still on the road.

But I dont see nothing agains hall sensor, he says that he have optical sensor, which tell us that hall sensor is off topic.
