Does anyone know a good supplier for general purpose hobby radio ICs like mixers, LNAs, modulators, etc.? Maybe a supplier for amateur radio hobbiests? Digikey and others only seem to sell the specialty stuff.

Specifically I'm wanting to build a circuit that will downconvert a narrow-band signal from 3MHz - 30MHz to a few tens of kilohertz (say, 50KHz). So ideally I could use an HF mixer that's takes RF I and Q inputs from a polyphase network I build (I'll need good image rejection!) and local oscillator and downconverts to about 50KHz. I could also use a field-programmable (serial or parallel) frequency synthesizer with fine VCO control for the local oscillator. I've looked around and can't find a thing. I'd rather not build a discrete doubly-balanced modulator when a simple and better-performing IC is out there. Any help or suggestions are appreciated.

hello,

You may specify your location. Did you contact your local/national radio amateur club?
