I've got Orcad 10.

I'd like to take some of the provided design files offered by micron
and the other chip companies and have a PCB made for some testing.

I'd also like to be able to tweak a few things as well.

From what I can tell, they offer for download the following types of files:

From JEDEC and the various companies:
Gerber
BRD
BOM List
Schematic (PDF format??)

I can't get Orcad to open any of these.

Any suggestions?

From the orcad suite I've got:
Layout (plus, engineer, etc)
Capture and Capture CIS
All the included Pspice stuff.

thanks

Re: I want to have a DDR memory module printed, some questio

little more detail..

all I really need to do is get their schematic's loaded into capture.

problem is both micron, samsung (only ones i've checked thus far)
include the schematic files as .ps (postscript).

now I can convert these to dxf files and import to layout.. I need
to know if it's possible to convert these .ps files to something I can
import to capture so I can muck around with the schematic (change
a few things).

I've searched just about everywhere, I can't seem to find any info on
converting .PS schematic files to something you can import.

any suggestions?

thanks

you cannot convert the PS files to SCH in orcad directly or indirectly, as these files dont have any CAD data, like pin no, etc. so no such things can be done.

one way is to redraw the sch again just looking through it.

regarding the layout

if u have the dxf you need to convert to gerber.
u will need the nc file too. else u have to generate this again.this is big process ,and u cannot get 100% success

it is better to rework if the placement and other restriction are not much important.

thanks for the reply Binu.

I'm going to call micron and see if I can get a schematic file (.sch or
similar) out of them. I really don't want to have to redraw it, lol.
