Interfacing nRf24L01+ tranceiver modules with pic18F45k20 RF link problems

Im having some serious issues trying to set up a communication link between the two Nordic Semiconductor nRF24L01+ transceiver modules by programming 18f45k20 microcontrollers. I am at complete stand still and need some assistance. I currently have a transmit program and a receive program sending the commands that were provided on the sparkfun example pic source code (Transceiver nRF24L01+ Module with Chip Antenna - SparkFun Electronics). I can provide complete schematics and my source code if anyone could be of some assistance or even if you could provide some trouble shooting techniques concerning pic programming or wireless technology.

ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED...

Use the RSSI regiser of the nRF24L01 to read the transmission field strength of the transmitter
 

As a new prgrammer, im not sure what you mean by this. Can you provide more details on how to measure the field strength?
