HI there, im new to this forum. Where would I begin to learn how to program, use/understand atmel and pic controllers? I have a job opportunity, but I need to know my stuff before even suggesting it. The controllers used are custom but based on atmel avr, and used for a variety of applications. Can some kind person please provide info on a path to becoming proficient at understanding/programming/fault finding?
Much apreciated

buy any one of the above controllers their programmer and get tutorials from net and start your practice on it.

if you buy mazidi books to learn any of the above controllers, you will learn alot. while your struggle to make your circuit hardware will make you learn about its designing and troubleshooting. i have also learn it in the same way.

Good place to start from basic hello world (led on program) through to can bus , keeloq and zigbee stuff

The best PIC tutorials that I've come across so far:

The tutorials cover both the Baseline and Midrange PICs using both Assembly and C Languages.

Each lesson is in a downloadable PDF format, along with the corresponding code in a zip file.

They are very professionally done and best of all they are free.
