I am trying to use HFSS and CST to modal a comformal microstrip antenna mounted on a cylinder substrate. I intended to use a coxial probe
as excitation. I wonder how I can draw it out.

hello,

in cst:
1)define metal cylinder as ground with certaiin inner and outer radius. cylinder thickness should be taken to accurately model connector
2)define substrate cilinder with inner radius same as outer radius of metal ground ciliner and outer radius according to substrate thickness
3)define second metal cylinder for patch
4)for rectangular patch define brick in such a way that a boolean operation with the outer metal patch cylinder results in a square patch. the remaining boolean operations should be chosen not to disturb the outer components
5) insert the probe in the same way as for planar structures

I have done the same thing in cst. I also tried a patch on a cone. it may take a few trials before you find the right boolean operations.

in hfss: I don't know

best regards

hi,
Thank you very much for your help. But I can't understand it well. I wondered if you could send your modle of CST to my emailbox. My emailaddress is liyong_BIT@hotmail.com
