Hello Every Body,
I am student of Microwave engineering and want to design Inverted F antenna for 900 MHz, 1800 Mhz and 2.45GHz so i will have 3 arms .one for 900 MHz,2nd arm for 1800 MHz and 3rd arm for 2.45 Ghz ,

My Question is How to select the port location in order to balance inductance and capacitance?

What formula should i use to calculate inductance and capacitance of my arm?

Thanks Alot

Salaam Asif

You will find many a articles about Inverted F antennas, but there's one thesis i will recommend you reading and i can give you some PIFA files simulated with HFSS.

so the thesis is by a student from university of queensland. If you need PIFA files let me know.

Hope this helps

Regards

Salam bro,

I am also working on design of Inverted F antenna for 2.45GHz .I have to use ADS as simulation software...Can you help in this regard...

Regards,

Wasim

i can help you with the design,But not very familiar with ADS.anyhow send an email i will give you my personal mail to correspond in the future.

AOA Wasim, i m not familiar with ADS as i use to work on CST but send me ur email so that i should forward u links,by the way this link is very very informative, i designed my IFA that is working at 2.45GHz, 900 MHz and 1800MHz by getting help from this website and please watch video regarding IFA

Hi elchiquito,

may I ask your PIFA files simulated with HFSS?
I need it as example for my project..
the thesis help a lot too, thank you.

thanks

Hi,

I am working on a tunable/reconfigurable PIFA at 2GHz and 2.45GHz using CST Microwave Studio software. Is there anybody here that can help me with files or thesis related to this antenna design? As for now, I am having some difficulties in making the reflection coefficient falls below -10dB at the desired frequencies.

Hi sofyana,

I'm having the same problems simulating PIFA in CST, I'm using the 900MHz example in the thesis attached above, but the S11 won't fall below -5dB even though I'm using the exact dimensions.
