Hi All,

I want to interface unipolar stepper motor with my processor having 3.3V & 1.8 V IO. Anyone suggest stepper motor driver IC for the same IO voltage level, replacement of ULN2003a(5V TTL/CMOS).

Thanks in Advance
Ashwani

What are the current and voltage requirements of the stepper motor?

The ULN2003A specs Ic = 300mA at Von = 3V

ULN2003A Datasheet

For 3.3v GPIO the ULN2803A is an option:

The ULN2803A specs Ic = 300mA at Von = 3V.

The following is an appnote detailing the interface of 1.8V and 3.3V devices (MSP430) to >5V peripheral devices:

For 1.8V GPIO the use of a level translator, 1.8V to 5V, would provide other options, including the use of an H-Bridge to drive the stepper motor.

Thanks for your reply.

stepper motor ratings: 5.0V, 10R phase resistance.

I was confusing with lines in uln2003a data sheet "The ULN2003A and ULQ2003A have a 2.7-kΩ series base resistor for each Darlington pair for operation directly with TTL or 5-V CMOS devices."

can be use uln2003a directly 3.3/3V compatible IOs without modify the driver ckt Stepper Motor Controller with Parallel Port.
