Both are interchangebly used terms. When some one say VLSI it essentially mean a very large collection of transistors in a compact package. Now it's up to the user to call this collection a circuit, or a system.

but i watch doctors in universities
from the research they are interesting in
vlsi circuit design and vlsi system design
the same doctor write the two topics of research
so they are difference ????

i think vlsi system design means front end and circuit design means back end..

VLSI circuit design means ANALOG design
VLSI system design means RTL
