[Help] How to learn DC?

Dear all,

Before that I am an FPGA designer, familiar with VerilogHDL. Now I was told to make the design into ASIC so I have to learn DC2000.05, however I found it's very difficult to learn, even there isn't any tutorial in the software. How do I start? I don't know how to setup the setup.file, some varibles, some libs and why should I. Could anybody give me some advice or recommand some good tutorial?

start with Design analyzer.. Its a GUI for DC.. Use the HImanshu bhatnagar book on synthesis. Search google to find some free tutorials .... ANd finally GET THE SOLD Manuals which is the best to learn DC

I think the tools is not difficult to master.

But I am really a newbie. I hope to know what
constrains need to be set and why?

If I find any violation in my design, how to fix it?

Is there this kind of tutorials anywhere?

Hi,
Best way to learn DC is through by studying DC manuals, before that get an account in the solvenet its very usefull. you will get answer to your most of the questions, i think you can also get so many usefull materials.

start with design vision GUI for DC
start with the simplest without any constraints,clk etc
u have a complete script example at the end of dc reference manual.

also go to documentation in www.solvnet.synopsys.com ,
