Cannot see on-screen display in Philips VCR model VR175

philips vr175 problemen

On my VR 175 videorecorder the displaying of the on-screen-display sequence has gone 'funny'. It is impossible to get all the options on the screen. The display starts with Language, then Searching, then Date&time and then jumps back to Language again. (then Searching,etc,etc.)
All the other options are not displayed and cannot be selected.
Does anyone have a suggestion to give this thing some sort of a master-clear, so that all options come on-screen again?

If any one has a good suggestion, I’d be most appreciative.
