Netlist - ECO error...

Hi All,

I have a schematic.. the recent one is lost and I managed to get a old revision schematic.. Now, i want to update the schematic on par with the new one..

So i took the .brd file (generated from the new schematic), created an ECO with the schematic that i have now.. I was able to correct all the pin errors which were misplaced/changed..

But still I am getting the following errors (below ECO report) .. Particularly the component changed and slot properties added.. I dont know how to solve this.. can someone please help me.. I need to have a 0 errors ECO..

Please help me friends..

This means that these components have changed in the two versions of the design. Instead of importing the old ECO into the new schematics, it is better to do a manual inspection of two versions and correct it.

Thanks! I have the old schematics and new .brd file with me ... How do i compare them manually because i don know what property in schematic is causing this error..

i aslo tried generating the ECO after creating netlist form OrCAD capture version 16.2, with some tweaks in the library .. I got this.. may i request your suggestion on this?

Varun,

From the ECO error report I can see that components U7 and U31 have changed. And to be specific, check the pins 11 of U7 and 6 & 50 of U31. See what is the trace name and where are they connected in the PCB. That will be the most recent design. ANd then check the net name and connectivity of these pins in schematics that wll be your older design. Based on the observation take a call on which one you should be retaining.

Varun Sir,
1) In the ECO generation give AUTOECO add only option. Then analysis which parts giving problem.
2) Or else take a copy of layout file and save it. Then delete the components which is giving problem during the ECO generation and added that components from library.
