Accelerometer Interfacing with Matlab

Can Anyone Help me in Interfacing Accelerometer with Matlab Any Accelerometer is Preferred i am new in dealing with these ..
 

You will need some sort of data acquisition hardware... and generally when you run data acquisition hardware, you would compile an xPC target so that it runs in real-time. Prior to that you would design and test your system in Simulink by providing simulated (in your case) accelerometer readings. What exactly are you trying to do?
 

I agree with you , DAQ Hardware must be required thats why i need proper hardware requirement to capture accelerometer data ... i am trying to build FPS Gaming with Real Guns i know its already build by the Water loo labs but they got DAQ Card so expensive (about 200$ i guess) i am trying to reduce the hardware , so it would be cost efficient ... can you help me somewhere

And yea bro sorry DAQ Card is about 2640 $ you can count how cost it is
 

MMA7660 or MMA7445,cheap, digital, and easy to interface. I used the 7660 on one of my previous projects but with microcontroller so I can help if you want.
 

Thanks Alot bro, i would love to if you can help me , my basic idea is ..to create a FPS (First Person shooting) Game with Real Gun's and to count a bullet effect i need accelerometers but if its with Microcontroller that would be so great .. could you help me

sure I can help you no problem, Digi-Key - MMA7660FCT-ND (Manufacturer - MMA7660FCT) I didn't understand your application really, but read the datasheet and if you need any help in interfacing the sensor with the microcontroller I am ready.if you need the C code I could send it to you, but you must take care of the timing (frequency of the microcontroller and so on) .
 

Thanks bro i hope it will work me out sure if i need your help i will tell you .. but the problem is , its hard to get this accelerometer in Pakistan , i will try to figure out if i can get a one .. so what does you designed using accelerometers ? with micro controller ?

I designed a device which goes into sleep mode then to standby mode when it senses no vibration or changes in x-y-z position or even change in the orientation (up-down-left-right-front-back) for time interval. Also in this device it display the values of all these variables in addition to the tap detection on an LCD. I really like this IC so much :smile: Anyway if you have a dhl, fedex,.... accounts they would deliver these kind of component to you but of course this will be convenient for you only if you want to buy a large number of IC's (say 100). Also if you know some one going to china, these IC's are cheap there I bought them from there ;-).
 

Great bro can you do me a favor could you mail me your project report and schematics .. if its not a problem for you ? i will not use it somewhere just indeed need for a review .. if you can mail me @ .. haris980@yahoo.com by the way great project ... i asked to some vendor for accelerometers they said it would take .. 14 to 90 Days .. to deliver them :( that means i have to wait .. ! what about you , what is your point of interest these days ?
 

Ok no problem I'll send you some document about the project, but I won't be able to send you the whole documents because it was for my work and protected by IP, but if you need any help I am here ;-). I am interested these days in 2 projects the first one is a sms unit which send sms to a certain number when a presaved action take place (e.g. temperature from a temperature sensor exceeds a certain level and so on), this unit should work in GSM bands, so I was reading about IC called sim300 I think it can do the job.
The second project is a little complicated, it includes some robotics, motors, DSP, image processing and a lot of mechanical design, wish me luck ;-).

Thanks alot bro , i got your email , yea but the problem is SCH files are used in altihum designer :p and i don't have that software :) but thanks alot bro can you help me in designing some PCB ?
 

Hey bro, I am cris thomas, final year ECE. I am doing a project based on gesture control, using mma7660 amd atmega 8 uC. Could you help me in interfacing those together and how to program motors for a car according to the movement of accelerometer? thankx. :)
