hello,

Regarding the power dissipation at max load. What is the difference in the dissipation of the two above types of clamp?

Suppose that they both give the same clamp voltage across the primary.
 

i believe the RCD snubber dissipates most because the resistor is always discharging the cap.

So am i right?
