Have you seen designs or SoC having multiple ground rails(i.e gnd1=0.0, gnd2=0.1, gnd3=0.2 etc).

in a design where one domain has vdd=1.0 and gnd=0.0 while
other domain where vdd=1.0 and gnd=0.2

Than does Levelshifter is required as there is volatge scaling from one domain to another.

Please share your thoughts.

Hi nitin, this is a common practice to have multiple power domains in a SOC. Yes we will need to use a level shifter when switching between power domains.

Thanks but do you come across SoC or IP having multiple ground rails as i said earlier?
A single domain can have multiple supples but its primary supply remains one.

if multiple ground rails are feasible and being used in IPs than for two domains whose primary power supply is same but ground supplies
are different than in that case do i need level-shifter?

By "If multiple ground rails" - Do you mean ground nets of different voltage? If Yes then there is no need for a level shifter, If you need to change the voltage without an external net or line, only then you need a level shifter.
