ohh yes , PC motherboard
I want generic , means i am servicing PC motherboards , so have to have the capability of programing almost all eeprom makes ....
It's an EPROM programmer you need, not a BIOS programmer.
There are many types on the market and because most recent PCs use plcc packages you will also need an adapter. Start by making a list of all the IC types you are likely to program, bearing in mind that some new motherboards use serial EEPROMs not EPROMS. Then search for a programmer that caters for all the types you listed.
You might have a problem if you just copy an old device or use a downloaded version from the manaufacturers web site because these images will not contain the bootloader sectors. These are programmed into the IC by the manufacturer then protected to make them unreadable. They contain the code that allows you to update the BIOS while the motherboard is 'live'.
