Things that needed change in original system:
  • continuously running fan
  • switching the pump engine directly via a miniature switch in the handle and the same – quick firing its contacts
  • sinusoidal rectifier to supply the engine
  • badly soldered wires and often with too small cross-section
Those disadvantages were eliminated in this project. Transistors 60N06 were used to control the heater and the engine. Thanks to that, there is the ample power. Heat sink, to which they are screwed up, does not heat up during work.
Compressor was the element that didn't need to be changed. Unfortunately, it works quite noisy.
There is a thermocouple in the handle. It gives about 35mV for 350 degrees Celsius.
There are some chips on the plate of the regulator:
  • C8051F310 – the heart of the driver
  • HT1621 – the driver of the display
  • HA17358 – operational amplifier
Performance of the fan depends on the temperature of rectifier bridge, which is equipped with a bigger radiator than in the picture. The fan was changed to another one with side airflow.
PCB was implemented so it fits hooks in the housing and do not interfere with other components of the device. The whole housing was also dyed with car lacquer in spray, using a primer that was also in spray.
