sim300 gsm .................. i cant work with it

hi,
i have sim 300 gsm and i connected it directly with my lap top by usb to serial converter and i don't know how to test it
i searched on the internet but no thing work
really i cant start
help
 

Hi mohamad

to test the modem you can open hyperterminal in that try to type this command and see will works or not
it shood work because all GSM modems will responds for AT commands

after powering on the device type AT+enter you will get OK responce
after that you type ATE0 + enter then AT+CMGF=1 + enter then AT+CMGR=1 +entr it will read a sms in the sim test with this .
 
Connect your GSM module with ''Hyperterminal'', if using Win XP (or get 'rsterm' for Win 7), by selecting app. comm port and other steps..
After connecting type in AT and press enter..
If the connection is properly established you will get an OK displayed in return....
I think these AT commands will prove useful to u....
