i wana do some image processing for my robot to detect white lines....i dnt wana use lines tracking techinque to make my robot to find its path i just want to do it in some diffreenct method and i also wana know how we can do image processing....so please guide me .....

You can implement the idea by installing a camera (may be a webcam) and use matlab for a video acquisition. In this case your robot has to be attached with computer hence it will lose flexibility in locomotion. You can also go for some onboard DSP processors for the same like TI DaVinci digital media processor. However the former will be cheaper solution.

thnkyou very much for your suggestion......but i cant use the first solution....please guide me more about the TI DaVinci media processor and DSp processor and tell me how can i program them...i realy wana learn them....thanks

Hi aliraza786,
"Embedded Image Processing on the TMS320C6000(TM) DSP: Examples in Code Composer Studio(TM) and MATLAB" - this is an book you may find to be useful for your application. There are various TI processors for image processing and video processing. The power of the processor would depend on the operating frequency of your system and the data processed. You may visit TI website for suitable TI DSP processor that may suit you. Please follow this link below:
DaVinci Digital Media Processors | TI.com

I hope this might be of some help... :)
