Hi,

I wanna make a project to display my car bettry information on LCD Screen. this battry is actually connected to a UPS and i wanna make a monitoring instrument for it that will continuously monitor the Current, voltage of the bettry and also the ampere hour rating of the bettry and the time left in which it can deliver power to the load.

im using 89c51 controller, and ADC0808 for that purpose.

----> Now the problem is how can i measure the voltage and current by using this ADC IC.....???

also how can i calculate that how much power is delivered to the load connected to my UPS and the time left for which it can deliver power to the load?

can any one help me please??

You need ADC samples for Voltage and Current in addition to a lapse timer to track time passed.

Why not to use a more powerful cpu with ADC onboard, that not need an external oscillator, reset and even voltage converter for some series (HV micro controllers)?
Or just buy one:
voltage meter | eBay

i m very thankful to all of u for your kind and useful suggestions ... im also feeling that i must have to perform experiments and develop the relationships between quantities.
thank again.
