Hi all,

I have some questions to ask you about Port Only solution in HFSS.

By setting this solution, the analysis is expected to be done at only one frequency (solution frequency, say 2.4 GHz), right.

However, as shown in the microstrip example of HFSS user's guide, there is a frequency sweep added to this Port Only solution (say 1 GHz to 5 GHz).

So, I am confused that is the analysis running from 1 GHz to 5 GHz also "Port Only" ???? If yes, what is the meaning of the solution frequency of 2.4 GHz ?

Thank you very much,

DYL

Solution Frequency is the only frequency in which a converged mesh is created. All other frequency solutions are determined by solving the same mesh as the solution frequency but with the field excitation of the frequency in the frequency sweep.

Hi tallface65,

Thank you very much for the wonderful explanation :) I understood now
