Hi all,

I have a Master in Electronics, I see high freq, digital/analog PCBs like motherboards, graphic cards with protocols like PCIe v3.0, USB3.0, DDR3 Memories, others.

What is the field of study to become an expert in this area? Also do you know a good book to start with?

Thanks & Best wishes

There are many tutorials available in the web about the highfrequncy PC board design.. Just serch in google.. u will get enough tutorials
all the best

Field of study: high-speed digital circuit design and transmission line theory (typically a subset of microwave engineering's fundamental topics)

Join as an embedded/hardware trainee/Engr in a small start-up company.. M.Sc electronics and lil bit programming stuff are more than enough to clear the interview. after few months, you are the expert.. All the best.

Hi,

OK, then it mostly seems to be about microwave and signal propagation and integrity. Should I know a lot about them? (I have passed Electromagnetics and know some about antennas).

Best & Thanks.

PS to cks2976: Dr. Howards book is 1993 did you find it useful?

Yes indeed.. all the principles stated in the book are valid even today. There is a follow up book by the same author- "High Speed Signal Propagation"- **broken link removed**. for advanced reading
