help for Verilog model, hardware, and a software driver

Hi i want to design a Verilog Model,hardware and software driver that can show the BCD digits 0-9 on a single digit LED display. I also have to Build the BCD to seven-segment decoder in the software.

Can anybody explaiin me this question. what book means by Model,Hardware and Software driver.
Thanks a lot
