i want to switch on light, fan etc with remote .. i am having a card receiver and remote purchased from market.. in which if press the remote for one second then it will give a normal close contact for one second or 12v dc for one second... can anyone help me how to make a permanent normal closed contact or normal open contact with a impule from card receiver... the system i expect is if i press the remote first time the light must on and remains on.. when i press it again the light must off and remains off ... and so on... Thanks in advance ..

At the light on/off point you will need to have a 24VDC SMPS with relay switch .
SMPS ratings 24VDC/5watts and relay sugarcube with 24VDC coil voltage.
The drive to this is from a bistable multivibrator created with LM555.
Pulse input from your recvr delivered to control pin 2 will switch the relay on and second pulse will switch it off.

Thanx /.. I I'll try myself and if I face any prob help me .. I I'll be happy if anyone give a complete simple circuit

simply use CD4013 for your application

Thanks to everyone ... Now the system is working as expected .. I used 555 timer bistable circuit from eleinmec website...

The system is working good .. But I have little prob.. I am using now two channel card receiver and two channel remote ... First channel o/p is given to 2nd pin (trigger) of 555 timer which switches on the system.. And second channel o/p is given to 4th pin (reset) of 555 timer to switch off the system ... Is it possible to control with single channel remote and card receiver ...

Yes! But u need to use some kind of flip flop. As the CD4013 . with it you can control 2 devices . It is dual D flip-flop with the simplest circuit than NE555 . May be it is also possible with 555.

i think (8 channel IR remote control) is best for u...

Thanks for all i tried with 555 timer bistable multivibrator .. And it was success... Thanks for all...
