Hi,
I have a square grid network with eight nodes on the square (in corners and centre of sides) and one node at the centre.
Having considered centre node as destination, am trying to get bit error rate with fixed poisson traffic at all nodes and fixed packet size.
Bit errors are found with respect to nearest neighbors of centre node as tranmsitters.
Node density and distance between the nodes are related as rl=(1/sqrt(node density)).
For this network, with non persistent csma i have run simulation in matlab.
Am not taking retransmissions.

I have taken random backoff time when medium busy as (packet duration*rand).

My problem is as i am changing node density, ber is not changing.

What could be possible reason?
Is my backoff timer correct?

Can some one suggest me possible solution?

Thanks
Sri
