simultaneous usb and battery power to uC

hi

i want to power up pic18f4550 using a battery but also using usb port power supply, so i have made a schematic for it (attached)

now my concept it that if 18f4550 is powered from battery and at the same time user connects the uC to usb port the diode will be reversed biased and will automatically cut battery supply and when usb is disconnected diode will be forward biased and uC will be powered from battery. is my concept correct? please correct me if i am wrong.
