I'm trying to make Cadence running on CentOS 6 (I've tried also RHEL) but I always get blocked by an error.
In particular, I'm able to install IC 614 package, Assura, MSIM and LCU using iscape. No apparent problem to install all package.

I'm using the same machine also as a license server. Again, no apparent problems in making lmgrd and license daemon running.

After that, I create a user account. I've tried to create a user script by copying a script taken from a working IC 5 version of Cadence.

As soon as I launch virtuoso (virtuoso& command) I get the following error:
I do the following:

1. change shell to tcsh

2. source initfile

3. virtuoso

At this point I get the following error:

Code:
error while loading shared libraries: libdl.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I would be very happy if someone can help me.

L.

You should try installing on a mature linux system such as CentOS 5.x ,Most EDA vendors standardize on older versions of linux . IC614 release notes suggest compatibility with RHEL 4.x I have installed on CentOS 5.5/5.6 and it runs just fine .

In your case just goto /lib directory and type "ls libdl*" and make a symlink of a higher version of libdl provided as libdl.so.2 using the ln command.
If you are using 64 bit CentOS 6 , make sure you download 32 bit runtime libraries .

hi

It is a library problem in OS. use command as

first go to the directory as

user/lib
here give the command as

ln -s libdl.so.2

after giving the enter

try for virtuoso
