I am planning to do a project on 'ROBOT TO RESCUE OF A CHILD IN BOREHOLE'. Iam going to have a robocar which is embedded with camera and two arms (to the left and right) so that it can hold firmly to path it is travelling. It is also provided with a arm which is controlled manually(through wireded or wireless communication) so that it can lift the baby out of the borehole. The weight of the baby is assumed to be approximately 5kg.
can anyone reply whether the project is possible to implement ?suggestion are needed .

Why not...it is possible. But it solely depends on one who designs, develops and impliments it coz the project too will have ample mechanical movemnets to be controlled apart from the Electronics.

In my reading of such harrowing rescues, it seems that one of the problems is not the lack of a robot that can do what you propose, but the instability of the hole. Using the hole or pipe casing may cause further collapse or dislodge rubble. Also, if the child fell in feet first, pulling it out head first could cause more injury. Grappling for the child could cause it to slip further down. Where and how you pull on the child may also affect its breathing. These are all hypothetical concerns, as I have never been involved in an actual rescue like you propose doing.

My advice would be to talk to individuals who have been involved in such challenging tasks, rather than trying to solve the problems theoretically.

A good thought I would say. But using of single pole arm something like telescopic would be more ideal than two fittings. The telescope will extend upto about 30ft or so and at the end of the arm you should have a CAM and a gripper so that it can hold the baby or anything. Finally a 5Kg may not be sufficient for human baby. You have to be in the range of 5-15 or even 20Kgs. I think the rest of robot is as usual like any other robot that students do in their college projects. The only problem you may face is to build or find the arm(telescopic).

Thank you
