cst vivaldi antenna

Hi group!
I have to simulate a Vivaldi antenna with CST and with HFSS, and then I have to comparate the results.

My antenna is a Vivaldi Antipodal Balanced (you can see that, if you go to CST home page=>applications=>antenna and sar=>... vivaldi).
I have dimensioned my antenna in function of my operation frequency and I know that the flare is large half wavelenght. But I don't know anythingh else about a precise dimension of this antenna (i.e. some relations to designe the curvature of the flare and so on). HELP!
I try to simulate my antenna first with cst and after two hours the simulation isn't terninated.. so I try to importe the .sat file with Hfss and an error occour.
WHY my simulation is so long? Maybe is a problem of boundary conditions?
And WHY I can't import model with hfss?

Thank you every one!

Re: AGAIN VIVALDI ANTENNA

Hi
delete the port
check your background and Symmetry
insert the port
decrease the mesh and try to run it again.

when you export and import sat use the same version
cst have newer ver of sat so try to exp from cst ver 8 and lower
to hfss.

Re: AGAIN VIVALDI ANTENNA

Hello all,

long simulation time is related to antenna bandwith. What does the energy slope do?

Post your MWS and HFSS project here (zipped and without results) and we will take a look..
