Hi guys,

I am doing my final year project that can create an energy efficient classroom. So, I have bought PIR motion sensor and install it in the
classroom. And I put a kWh meter to get the data of the usage electricity in the classroom. My problem is my lecture want me to add
something like microcontroller with the motion sensor. But, i had thought of using the gsm controller to send me the data of the meter. What
do you think of that? Do you have any simple or interesting ideas that can share with me? I really hope that you guys can help me.

what signals do you get from the PIR sensor and the KWH meter? e.g. analog voltages, digital data from an intelligent device?

i think it is best to impliment zigbee instead of gsm. Through zigbee you can send message to a remote location without any additional cost like cost per sms. But combired to gsm its cost is high. And you need two zigbee module

what is your purpose of motion sensor? to detect anyone around the classroom? what type of PIR? which manufacturerit from? what is the output?

The purpose is to detect switch off the lights when areas are unoccupied or classroom areas out of hours and reduce the cost of energy usage. Im using a 360degree THEBEN motion sensor.

then how to connect the zigbee with the sensor? is the price more than 1k??

The kwh digital meter shows how much the power is been used after i implement the sensor.
