Hello, i need to configure the Xbee and i have pair of XBee series 2 module, but i don't have Xbee explorer to configure it. I have to configure using AT89s51 uc which i have one. Please help me .

its simple serial communication.. connect zigbee to 2 systems and see if you can send and receive data on other PC or any system... if you can send and receive data between 2 pc then it needs no configuration if not, then you have to configure as said in the pdf attached...............

@CKSHIVARAM
thank you very much for your help and i am very much pleased...i hope it will work...
i have another qn. too and that is i don't find that 20 pins of Xbee2 are compatible with breadboard holes. So do you have PCB diagram of it?
give me some idea.

Regards

The Digi xBees connectors have a 2.0mm pitch, instead of the standard 2.54mm pitch, so they are not breadboard compatible.

Here are some compatible female sockets:

• Through-hole single-row receptacles - 
Samtec P/N: MMS-110-01-L-SV (or equivalent)

• Through-hole single-row receptacles - 
Mill-Max P/N: 831-43-0101-10-001000

• Surface-mount double-row receptacles - 
Century Interconnect P/N: CPRMSL20-D-0-1 (or equivalent)

• Surface-mount single-row receptacles - 
Samtec P/N: SMM-110-02-SM-S

You should also be aware they are 3.3v devices, and do not tolerant being driven at 5v.

Unfortunately, the user manual that Chshivaram so graciously uploaded for you, is specifically for xBee Series 1. The Series 1 and Series 2 have totally different firmware and protocols and are not compatible in any way. The Series 1 has the 802.15.4 firmware installed and the Series 2 the ZB firmware installed.

If you indeed have Series 2 devices, you'll need the User Manual I have attached below. You will also need to download the latest XCTU utility from Digi, to properly configure the Series 2 devices.

X-CTU Software

For future reference, a pair of xBee Series 1 will usually successfully establish a link upon initial powerup, however the xBee series 2 almost always require some additional configuration before a successfully link is established.

Hope the info helps in your endeavors.

Ciao

@ BIGDOGGURU

your information is really helpful...i am so much pleased...hope my work will be success...

The xBee series 2 devices have limited benefit over the series 1 for a network of only a few connections.
So, you may find it quite a bit simpler to setup if you order the series 1 devices in the future. Also keep in mind, the Series 1 and Series 2 devices are not compatible.

The "Pro" designation you see on both Series 1 and Series 2 devices specifies a high gain amplifier to increase range, however this ultimately means a higher power consumption as well.

Good luck with your project.

Ciao

thank you very much to both of you...i found some interesting material on following link and it helps me a lot...it contains the schematic, board file and pdf for PCB of xbee made compatible with 2.54 mm breadboard...hope this will help lots of enthusiast...
