i am using the pic24f32ka304 controller.in my project i am sensing both the voltage and current.and iam sensing the current upto 0.9 A.and when the current is at .9A it will go to another stage....but when iam switching the unit on/off continously ...the unit is sensing the current as .9A even though the current is not .9A.i have given the delay also...even though iam getting the same problem...is the controller not behaving properly...pls helpme

Hi,
So you are using current/voltage converter and ADC.
You change the gain for having a large range of values??
And at this momment you have problems.
Do you have always the same reference for the ADC??
hope it help you.
regards
JoseMiguel

How are you measuring the current? Current sense resistor? Hall-effect?

iam using the ADC ...and also the same reference( fixed voltage reference)..do u mean having the same voltage reference will create the problem...and the problem can be eliminated by increasing the gain
